Choosing your fragrance

How do I choose a fragrance if I haven’t smelled it before?
Start with the kinds of scents you already enjoy—fresh citrus, soft florals, warm woods or sweet gourmand fragrances. Each product’s fragrance notes and scent profile can help you narrow your choice, and our room suggestions offer another starting point. Do I need to know the original perfume to enjoy your fragrance?
No. Choose a fragrance because you enjoy its scent profile—you do not need to know the perfume that inspired it. If you enjoy Lemongrass & Lime, consider Verbena Zest, inspired by L’Occitane Verbena. If you prefer sweet gourmand scents such as Vanilla Caramel, try Sugar Crush, inspired by Kayali Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar. Our fragrance notes and room suggestions can help you find a scent for your space. Every room deserves it.

Using and refilling your diffuser

What is a reed diffuser, and how do I use one?
A reed diffuser fragrances your space continuously, without a flame or electricity. Pour your Raww Scents refill into a suitable diffuser vessel and add the fibre reeds. The reeds draw up the fragrance liquid and gradually release the scent into the air.

Can I refill a diffuser bottle I already own?
Yes. Our 250 mL refills let you reuse a suitable glass diffuser bottle you already love, regardless of brand. Clean the vessel, allow it to dry completely and add your chosen fragrance with fresh reeds.

How long will my reed diffuser last?
Our perfume-inspired home fragrances are formulated to deliver approximately three months of fragrance enjoyment. Actual performance will vary with placement, conditions and the number of reeds used.

Why can’t I smell my diffuser anymore when there is still liquid left?
There are several reasons a diffuser can become less noticeable, including its position, the condition of the reeds or simply becoming accustomed to the scent. Check that it has gentle air circulation and consider how long the liquid and reeds have been in use. If the fragrance has faded after several months, refresh your diffuser with new liquid and fresh reeds. If you are unsure, contact us at hello@rawwscents.com.au.

Do I need to turn the reeds, and how often?
Our fibre reeds are designed to diffuse fragrance without regular turning. Simply position them in your diffuser and allow them to do their work. If you choose to turn them, use gloves or a tissue to handle the soaked reeds. Avoid contact between the diffuser liquid and your skin or surrounding surfaces.

How many reeds should I use, and can I adjust the fragrance strength?
We include seven fibre reeds with every refill. For a softer scent or a smaller space, use fewer reeds. Add more of the supplied reeds if you would like a stronger fragrance.

Do I need new reeds when I refill my diffuser?
Yes. We recommend fresh reeds with every refill. Every Raww Scents diffuser refill includes seven fibre reeds in your choice of Ivory (white), Berry (red) or Ebony (black).

Where should I position my reed diffuser for the best results?
Place your diffuser on a stable, protected surface with gentle air circulation around the reeds. Keep it away from direct sunlight, heat, fans and strong draughts, which can use up the liquid more rapidly. Always position the diffuser glassware out of reach of children and pets.

Why is my diffuser liquid disappearing so quickly?
Heat, direct sunlight, strong airflow and the number of reeds used can affect how quickly your diffuser liquid is used. Our base is selected to support a balanced release of fragrance over time. If your Raww Scents refill is disappearing faster than expected, try using fewer reeds and checking its position. Please contact us at hello@rawwscents.com.au if you would like further advice.

Can I change fragrances when I refill my diffuser?
Yes. Wash your glass diffuser vessel with warm, soapy water to remove the previous fragrance, then rinse and allow it to dry completely. Refill with your new fragrance and add fresh reeds.

What comes with my refill; are reeds and a diffuser bottle included?
Every 250 mL amber bottle of Raww Scents diffuser refill includes a fresh packet of seven fibre reeds. Diffuser glassware is sold separately, so you can reuse a suitable bottle you already own or choose one from our glassware collection.

Why can I stop noticing a fragrance after a while?
You can become accustomed to a fragrance that is present in your space, sometimes described as being ‘nose-blind’. Visitors may still notice it even when you no longer do. If the fragrance also seems faint to someone entering the room, check your diffuser’s placement and how long the liquid and reeds have been in use.

Can I use the diffuser refill as perfume, or are they different products?
No. Our diffuser refills are for home fragrance and must not be applied to skin. Our separate perfume samples are formulated for wearing. Always use each product as directed on its label.

About our inspired fragrances

What does “inspired by” mean?
‘Inspired by’ means we have worked with our fragrance manufacturer to create our own interpretation of a familiar scent profile. Our fragrances are developed for home fragrance, drawing inspiration from the character of well-loved designer perfumes.

Will my diffuser smell exactly like the perfume that inspired it?
Our fragrances are our own interpretations, rather than exact copies. We aim to capture the recognisable character of the perfume that inspired them, in a formula created for home fragrance. A scent released into a room may be experienced differently from perfume worn on skin, so individual notes may feel more or less prominent. Designer names are referenced only to help explain the fragrance inspiration.

Are your fragrances made by, or affiliated with, the designer brands?
No. Raww Scents is not affiliated with, endorsed by or manufactured by the designer brands referenced. We mention those brands and fragrances only for comparison, to help you understand the inspiration and scent profile. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.

How can an inspired fragrance be affordable without compromising quality?
We focus our investment on the fragrance itself. Our home fragrances are blended and bottled in Australia, with formulas developed for reed diffusion. We keep our packaging simple, without celebrity endorsements or the overheads of physical retail stores, helping us keep our prices accessible.

Does being an inspired fragrance affect its strength or longevity?
Our focus is on how each fragrance performs in your space. We pair formulas developed for reed diffusion with fibre reeds selected to draw up and release the fragrance liquid. Our fragrances are formulated for approximately three months of enjoyment, with actual performance depending on placement, conditions and reed quantity.
